Welcome to the Tamar Rowing Club.
We are a proud contemporary sports club built on a foundation of tradition. With a long and successful record on the water, we emphasize participation for rowers at all levels—from beginners to elite athletes. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Our new and modern clubrooms host regular club nights and social get-togethers, ensuring a vibrant community both on and off the water.
The flood of 2016, though devastating at the time, has led to a stronger, revitalized club. Our refurbished boat bays, extensive gymnasium, and elevated clubrooms overlooking the Tamar River are testaments to our resilience and growth.
Our rowers benefit from the expertise of club coaches, the Rowing Tasmania State Development Officer, and the Tasmanian Institute of Sport. Our private club pontoon provides direct access to the Tamar, making it easy for members to get on the water.
We boast an impressive fleet of boats, from singles and doubles to quads and eights, catering to all rowing preferences. Our strong sense of family spans several generations, and our distinctive club “zooties” with the dominant T on the back are worn with pride.
The Tamar Rowing Club welcomes everyone. Whether you’re a beginner, rowing for fun and fitness, or aspiring to represent your club, state, or country, you’ll find a home here.
New members are always welcome!
